(More customer reviews)We frequently pound chicken for our favorite recipes, which is why I was looking for the best meat pounder I could buy.My research led me to an old favorite, "Cook's Illustrated."They rated the Norpro Offset Meat Pounder the best of all the ones they tested. They liked the offset handle design, which relieved some of the tension on one's wrist.
I have to concur with "Cook's Illustrated."I have less wrist strainwith the offset handle. The pounder has a good heft, and makes quick work of the meat. The disk is 3 and 3/4 inches in diameter. The overall length is 11 and 1/4 inches. My kitchen (spring) scales weight the Norpro at 1 lb. 10 ozs.The chrome surface is smooth, and could not be easier to clean. One only has to look at the photo to see how easy.
I almost did not buy this because of the price. However, we use our meat pounder a lot, and the Norpro Offset Pounder has been worth every penny to my wife and I.
Buy the best -- scream once.
