(More customer reviews)I wanted a potato ricer to make hash browns. Previous reviews suggested washing the ricer immediately after use to avoid rusting, but no matter what, this thing rusts! The ricer actually rubs when in use so the mechanism is not smooth and metal on metal abrasion occurs opening surfaces to more rusting!
The thing is hard to separate for thorough washing and the pin holding the two arms together takes a bit to work in and is pretty much rusty after 5 uses.
Because I am using the ricer for hash brown and not mashing, I apply more pressure...and let me tell you, the handles hurt my hands!
I bought a MUCH better ricer from williams sonoma, it is stainless with with much more hand friendly handles.
This is one CHEAP ricer, spend a little more and get a quality stainless one!
